Search engine and Online data baseh

 Today we've learned about how to use search engine and online data base. First of all, Madam introduce us what is search engine and online data base.

 Search Engines and Online Database is a system where people can find literally anything on the World Wide Web or simply WWW.

 1. A web tool that enable user to find any information using keywords2. Every search engines have their own database

 There are 4 part of search engine:

 1. database to store references to Webpages
2. web-crawlers to find and compile indexes of Webpages
4. User Interface
5. Information retrieval system

 1. Database

 - a storage where all indexed webpages are stored. (The bigger the database, the bigger storage it can keep).
 - where the user’s query is matched.

2. Web-crawlers (spiders)

 simpler understanding of 'web-crawlers', you must bear it mind that it act like a spider where it "crawls" all over the Web Page collecting information like keywords, titles, synonyms, access fruquency, relevency. It's like a brilliant spider who can do everything to search as many information as it can.





3. user Interface

a user-friendly app/site/page where users may input query and search results are presented.




4. information retrieval system



a system used to match the user's query to indexed webpages found in database.
- results presented in rank according to relevance

World Wide Web have 3 parts which is
1. Surface web - the website that we usually visited on our daily basis
2. Deep Web - Includes personal and confidential information of users
3. Dark Web - Place where all illegal activities taken place. Only accessible by TOR browser

Evolution of CALL

Hello and Assalamualaikum. Today is the second class for this week. The first class on Tuesday, we've learned about the evolution of the CALL. So basically, based on my understanding evolution of CALL have three basic progression which are Behaviouristic CALL, Communicative CALL and Integrated CALL. Behaviouristic CALL is develop in 1960s based on behaviorist learning theory. The Stanford Project (1960) students listen and type the answer and students work is compared with answer sheet. There are many advantages of using behaviouritic CALL. Can provide immediate feedback, efficient record keeping, students can work at their own pace outside the classroom. Communicative CALL, developed between 1970-1980s and focused  on the usage of language rather than perfect grammar. Computer as a tutor. Non-drill format skill practice. Computer Mediated Communication

Hello back. Before I start, do you know what is CMC? or in other words is Computer Mediated Communication. Do you have any idea on it? or did you have heard this words before? So basically, CMC is any form of communication or interaction between two or more people via separate computers through network connection. Started in late 1980s and 1990s with introduction of Communicative CALL. ASYNCHRONOUS CMS means that communication is not synchronized and message are not exchanged and replied immediately. for example, E-mails, social media, internet forums, message board and blogs. CMC and long distance learning. in the late 2000s, CMC was implemented for distance learning. Synchronous communication allows teachers and learners to interact without bening in the same place. COLLABORATIVE learning. Computers can help enhance peers interaction and group works. For examples, google doc, google drive, blogs and messenger.
